Sure my book is launching and, sure, I'll share a bit from it at this FUN FALL BOOK LAUNCH event. The biggest reason for you to come, however, is to get a bit of practice being with people again.
The event will be in a large covered area near Portland, Oregon where everyone is vaccinated & masked & can spend time doing crafts & enjoying music alone or meeting some new friends & having some conversations. EVERYONE is welcome...especially children (ages 0-100).
We'll have locally made apple cider donuts & are hoping to have a cider press for you to get to enjoy.
We'll have books for sale & I'll have pens on hand for signing them.
The incredible Cameron DeWhitt (of the Get up in the Cool podcast) will be headlining an Old Time music trio live & we'll have some books for sale & signing on hand. There will also be opporutnities to participate in improv games if you'd like, with folks from the wonderful Portland improv scene.
A short reading and such will occur around 3:45/4:00.
We'll be gathering supplies for our houseless neighbors with the help of Rahab's Sisters & hearing from (& accepting donations for) Portland Refugee Support Group who helps in resettlement in the Portland area. So bring all your jars of spare change (and/or bills, checks, etc) & any gently used coats, sleeping bags, blankets, &/or tarps.
PROOF OF VACCINATION & MASKS WILL BE REQUIRED TO PARTICIPATE UNDER THE SHELTER. Children, who are not yet able to be vaccinated, are very welcome...which is why the rest of us will need proof of vaccination...to protect our most vulnerable.
Items to bring to donate to Rahab's Sister's:
Camping gear
Belts
Sleeping bags/Blankets
Coats
Boots/Sturdy shoes
